Hotel Association

Serving the needs of Philadelphia properties and members through advocacy and communication on education, technology, and other industry issues.

What We Do

Government Affairs & Advocacy

GPHA serves as the principal advocate of the hotel industry in the Philadelphia region, furthering its interests through civic representation, education efforts, community partnerships, and increased marketing presence. GPHA also takes a position on legislation that directly or indirectly affects our members. Our recent lobbying efforts have saved our members millions of dollars in reduced taxes, permit fees, and improved guests experience.

The Voice of the Region’s Hotel Industry

GPHA serves as the voice of the hotel industry throughout the Delaware Valley to the news media and Commonwealth and local elected officials. Our hotel tax funds the Pennsylvania Convention Center, PHLCVB, and Visit Philadelphia which gives us representation on their Boards of Directors. We also serve on several other boards including Independence Visitors Center, Philadelphia Works, Mayor Nutter’s Hospitality Cabinet, Philadelphia Sports Congress, Multicultural Affairs Congress, and Valley Forge Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Who We Are

The Greater Philadelphia Hotel Association serves the interests of more than 90 hotels, including all Center City properties, and 140+ allied members throughout the Delaware Valley.

The result: our hotel members offer visitors more than 30,000 guestrooms and employ 14,000 residents.

Sessions for Success: “Compassionate Business Practices: How to Have a Difficult Conversation"

Compassionate Business practices are all about creating a win-win in business for the greater good of all concerned. But what happens when you need to have a difficult conversation? How do you do it with grace? How do you do it in a way that honors you and the one you are conversing with?

GPHA Member Networking Receptions

We will gather this month at The Logan Hotel, a social hub in the heart of the cultural district, with an extensive curated local art collection that tells the story of our great city. Don't miss this unique opportunity to tour the hotel and network with the members.

GPHA Power Meetings & Business Opportunity 2016

This event is a premier members only forum for Allied and Hotel members to come together and participate in a series of one-on-one meetings, network, build relationships and exchange ideas. Don't miss this unique opportunity to meet with key hotel decision makers in a relaxed environment conducive to business discussions.

GPHA believes the best way to help our visitors to the Philadelphia region is to provide the best product and service they have ever experienced. How do we learn what is and is not working for them?

By talking to one another. GPHA hosts six major events, and about a dozen other less formal events, for the hospitality industry to meet and discuss what they are seeing and hearing within their own properties.

Allied Member Feedback on GPHA's 2014 Power Meetings

"Thanks for putting on another great show. I wanted to let you know that the structure this year felt much more conducive for making an impression with our target market. I'm happy to tell you we made some great contacts and I look forward to attending shows with a similar format."
